New product launches
Verb Products released its dermatologist-tested Bonding Collection, consisting of a Bonding Shampoo and Bonding Mask. Both products are clinically-proven to help relink broken bonds, temporarily seal split ends and strengthen strands for smoother, shinier and visibly healthier hair – from the very first use. The bonding category is “booming,” notes the brand. However, it highlights that this sector of the hair care industry is often set at a premium price. Verb developed a bonding collection at US$20, targeting the needs of budget-conscious consumers. Powered by Verb's dual-action amino bond complex, which brings together the technology of science and the power of plant sugars and natural ingredients, the Bonding Collection also includes powerhouse ingredients like a blend of marine botanicals, mafura butter and manketti oil.

The At Home Microwave Waxing Kit offers a sustainable silicone microwaveable cup, acai berry hard wax beads and reusable silicone wax applicator. The premium packaging and products are designed in eye-catching rainbow hues and include easy-to-use instructions for a waxing experience in the privacy of one’s own home.

Candy-style vitamin chew brand Chewsy launched Beautiful Hair 30ct tubs and Youthful Skin 6ct-trial pack sachets via the retailer Foxtrot. The chewables comprise a blend of essential nutrients to aid consumers along their wellness journey. Chewsy chews are individually wrapped so they stay sanitary and are easily portable. The chews are marketed as “fitting more nutrients than gummies,” while containing 3 grams of organic sugar and no gelatin. The Beautiful Hair and Youthful Skin supplements are labeled with beauty-boosting benefits. Beautiful Hair is formulated with 12 nutrients to support hair health and strength, such as biotin, goji berry, vitamin D, vitamin C and essential B vitamins. Youthful Skin, which is raspberry-lemonade flavored, is made with hyaluronic acid, grape seed extract, minerals and essential antioxidants.

Sentient, a full-service provider to the aesthetic care industry, announced today that the US Food and Drug Administration has approved Tixel by Sentient, its non-invasive skin resurfacing technology, for the treatment of periorbital wrinkles. Periorbital wrinkles, commonly known as “crow’s feet,” are fine lines that appear around and under the eyes, representing one of the earliest signs of aging. These wrinkles can be particularly challenging to treat since the skin around the eyes is thinner and more delicate compared to the rest of the face. Tixel by Sentient delivers short bursts of thermal energy into the skin’s surface without damaging the deeper tissues. Dove and smoothie bar Juice Press launched limited-time Dove x Juice Press smoothies, “inspired by the indulgent ingredients and creamy, nourishing feel of Dove Exfoliating Body Scrubs.” Until September 14, customers can stop by any of the 80 Juice Press locations across the US to purchase two smoothies. The first is Dove x Juice Press Crushed Cherry Chia Smoothie – a sweet, “vibrant” blend of bing cherry, strawberry, mango, pomegranate, banana, maple, pitaya and flax with chia seeds. Secondly is Dove x Juice Press Crushed Macadamia Vanilla Smoothie – a “cozy” blend of banana, blue spirulina, cinnamon, stevia, coconut nectar, macadamia butter drizzle and vanilla. Every purchase of a limited-time Dove x Juice Press smoothie will include an exclusive QR code, which customers can scan to sign up and save on any Dove Exfoliating Body Scrub at their preferred retailer.

Individuals who play outdoor sports experience substantially higher ultraviolet radiation exposure and therefore increased risk of skin cancer, stresses the brand. The partnership aims to raise awareness of sun safe behaviors, including daily sunscreen use on and off the tennis courts to help reduce the risk of skin cancer, the most common cancer in America. It will deliver sun safety education and complimentary sunscreen samples in new channels, including Arthur Ashe Kids’ Day, USTA National Campus in Orlando and partnerships with professional tennis stars Frances Tiafoe and Madison Keys. La Roche-Posay will be back with a sun safety education booth in the South Plaza of the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center at the 2023 US Open. Corporate announcements and initiatives
Dove launched the Dove Nature Regeneration Project, its latest initiative to protect nature and tackle climate change. In partnership with the Rimba Collective, Dove will help protect and restore 123,000 acres of rainforest in Southeast Asia over five years. In addition to protecting and restoring 123,000 acres of rainforest, the Dove Nature Regeneration Project provides training and seed capital that promotes sustainable management of natural resources in the region. The project aims to improve the livelihoods of 8,000 people in the region through job creation and increased access to healthcare, education, clean water and sanitation. Re-established forest cover will also reduce the impact of natural disasters such as flooding and landslides.

Estée Lauder Companies announced that its chairman emeritus, Leonard Lauder, has decided not to stand for re-election to the company’s board of directors at the annual meeting in November. Pursuant to the stockholders’ agreement among Lauder family members and the company, Leonard Lauder has the right to designate two directors of the company. In addition to his son William Lauder, who serves as executive chairman, Leonard Lauder has designated his son Gary Lauder to serve on the Board. The board has nominated Gary Lauder and will include his name among the nominees for election at the company’s annual meeting in November. Gary Lauder is the managing director of Lauder Partners, a Silicon Valley-based venture capital firm. He has been a venture capitalist since 1985, investing in over 150 private companies. Gary holds a BA in International Relations from the University of Pennsylvania, a BS in Economics from the Wharton School and an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business. Gary has periodically attended the company’s board meetings over the years as an invited observer, which has provided him with a long-term view of the company.
